A:Proudly located at Ijams Nature Center, Navitat Knoxville's entirely tree-based adventure park consists of six different elevated “adventure trails” – all starting from one main central platform in the forest. Each trail is rated for difficulty, ranging from easy to accomplish to more difficult. Easier trails are closer to the ground (10- to 15-feet high), while the more difficult trails are situated higher in the treetops (30- to 60-feet high). Each trail consists of 10 to 12 different adventure elements, from ziplines and bridges to swings, nets, elevated tunnels, and more!
This Navitat adventure is entirely self-guided, but don’t worry! Our staff will teach you everything you need to know before you head to the trees, and our trained Adventure Crew will be on-site monitoring your progress and assisting if needed.
A:An element, or obstacle, is something you traverse to get to the other side. Each one is different. For example, you may walk across a rope bridge, go over teeter-totters, or fly on a zipline!
A:When participating, there are 6 different adventure trails, or routes, from which to choose. Each is made up of different adventure elements and they vary in difficulty: beginner, moderate, and difficult.
A:Each ticket includes an equipment briefing followed by two-hours of adventure time in the park. Pricing is as follows:

A:Walk-ins are welcome during our operating hours OR make a reservation in advance to guarantee your adventure space and departure time. Questions? Give us a call at 855-628-4828. If you have a large group and qualify for our Group Discount, a reservation must be made by phone.
A:Navitat is proud to have one of the kindest cancellation policies in our industry! While many other tours offer no refund within 7 days - and sometimes as many as 14 days - before a scheduled tour date, we know that your plans may change. With this in mind, Navitat’s cancellation policy is:
• All reservations are charged in full at the time of booking.
• Reservations canceled more than 72 hours in advance of the tour time will be issued a refund.
• Reservations canceled less than 72 hours in advance of the tour time are not eligible for a refund.
• Rescheduling within 72 hours is only permitted if a rescheduling fee of $6 per person is paid
Why can’t I cancel or get a refund within 72 hours of my scheduled tour time?
72-hours prior to your scheduled tour time, we consider your reservation “final” so that we can make proper plans for your visit! At this time, we schedule all of the staff that will be required to accommodate you. From Adventure Guides and Sales Staff, when you say, “Count me in!” we do all we can to ensure your Navitat visit is incredible. Because of the logistics involved, last minute cancellations or refunds are not possible.
Why do I have to pay to reschedule within 72 hours?
At this point we consider your reservation “final” and have already scheduled all of the staff that will be required to accommodate you. The payment to reschedule within 72 hours will help cover the cost of lost revenue as we may not be able to refill those seats.
A:The Navitat desk is located in the Ijams Visitor’s Center. Check-in for your adventure at our desk and our staff will direct you from there.
A:We offer a 10% discount for groups of 10 or more people who make reservations at least 48 hours in advance of their chosen adventure times. Considering bringing a very large group to Navitat Knoxville? Contact us at [email protected] or 855-628-4828 to discuss options.
A:While actively participating on the course, you will not be allowed to have anything in your pockets or anything that may fall to the ground. The one exception to this rule is if you require a fast-acting medication, such as an EpiPen or an asthma inhaler. We will ask you to bring these items with you on the adventure, and our staff will provide you with a way to secure these items to your gear.
Cubbies are available at the check-in desk to safely store your car keys while you are out on the course if needed. We will not hold valuables, but we do offer lockers at no additional charge.
A:Yes. Cameras are permitted provided they have a strap and can be secured to your gear. We suggest point-and-shoot style cameras rather than ones with large lenses. GoPro video cameras can be accommodated if you bring along the helmet strap accessory (helmet sticky-mounts do not work).
Cell Phones can also be brought on course. We even sell pouches to carry them in so you don't have to worry about dropping it.
Rather not worry about a camera or phone? Good news! There are two points on the course where we have photo stations. Press the button, smile, and then check out and purchase your photos in the Visitor's Center following your adventure! Also note, any one of your friends or family members on the ground is more than welcome to take pictures as you work your way through the park!

A:Navitat operates rain or shine, and guests regularly report that participating in the rain is a BLAST! Navitat continues to operate as long as weather is not considered threatening.
In the event of severe weather, such as lightning or sustained high winds, Navitat may choose to close or put guests on standby. Advance notice may not be possible. If your pre-booked experience is cancelled because of severe weather, Navitat will offer a rain check or a full refund. Should severe weather occur while you are on the course, Navitat may discontinue your experience. Discontinued experiences are offered a full or partial refund that is based on the amount of time remaining on your ticket. In the event of a full park closure due to inclement weather, we update our operational status here.
A:Yes! Our park includes a series of trails that runs under and alongside the adventure elements. You are welcome to watch from the ground, cheer on your friends, or take pictures from the trails!
A:Participants should be in good health and prepared for an active experience. Full range of motion in your arms, shoulders, neck, and back is required. During your adventure experience, you will be able to choose your challenge level from easy to difficult courses. Our highly trained staff will help you in selecting courses that are appropriate to your age, skills, and comfort level.
A:You can participate with confidence knowing that you are in the hands of respected industry leaders, with safety as our priority! Navitat Adventure Crew Members undergo a rigorous 30-hour technical training and must pass written and practical skills tests prior to working. Ongoing training is also required monthly.
You are always connected to safety lines while up in the trees, and your system does not allow you to be unclipped while you are at height. We like to describe the course as “low risk,” but YOU play a very important role in ensuring your personal safety! Listening to the Adventure Crew Members, following directions, and knowing your personal limits will help to ensure you have a great Navitat experience.
A:Dress as though you are headed into the woods on a hike, and remember – Navitat operates rain or shine! Please dress for the weather. Rain jackets/pants are great, but loose-fitting ponchos cannot be worn with our safety gear. We recommend bringing layers along so that you can adjust clothing accordingly once you have arrived. Closed-toe shoes are required. Pants or longer shorts are recommended to be more comfortable with our harnesses.
A:We do. Simply come dressed and prepared for an active outdoor experience and we will provide everything you need—harness, gloves, and helmet!
